SOLD: The Original Mini Vee
Maybe next spring I'll have another boat for sale.
Attention racers and wanabees: Available to any current or future Twin City Powerboat Association member, the original Dillon Mini Vee is For Sale. I will not sell this boat to just anyone; I will only sell to someone who will race it in the GT Pro racing class in events conducted by TCPBA.
Here is your chance to join this fast, fun, and family-oriented sport.
I will readily admit that I built this boat on the cheap. But I did not build it poorly. I used AC grade plywood from the lumberyard and finished the deck and cockpit with latex house paint. However, the boat is glued together with epoxy, and the bottom is finished with epoxy. This boat has withstood some very rough conditions with no ill effects.
A little time and elbow grease would really make this boat shine. But let me be clear: this boat is ready to race right now!
The Mini Vee was raced in Mini GT a few times in 2006, and was raced in Mini GT and GT Pro in 2007. It has collected a bunch of first, second and third place trophies.
Features include a jack plate with three inches of vertical adjustment and six inches of setback.
The trim system uses a Mercruiser pump and Mercury cylinder.
The cockpit features foot-operated throttle, trim buttons on the wheel, Tiny Tach tachometer, kill switch with lanyard, and dash-mounted starter button. That's a lap counter on the left side of the wheel; I never remembered to use it while racing.
The motor is a 1994 25hp Evinrude, upgraded with a 30/35hp carburetor. The trailer was new in 2005.
Boat, motor and trailer: $2000 (includes prop and battery)
Boat and motor: $1700 (includes prop and battery)
Boat and trailer: $1000
Boat alone: $700
