Boatbuilding Books from Dillon Racing

Glen L. Witt is the founder of the huge plans company known as Glen L. His book is really basic, down-to-earth treatise of plank-on-frame plywood construction. It seems dated in parts, but that may be due to the old photos, most having been taken in, I'd guess, the early 1960s. But there are a lot of good basic building rules discussed here. And the book has been updated periodically over the years.

I bought this book about fifteen years ago and subsequently built a plywood lapstrake sailboat, which I still sail. The building methods are not very relevant to building the Dillon Mini, but there is excellent information here regarding scarfing plywood and using epoxy. Worth the price for that alone.

Sharpies are traditional sailing craft from the American east coast, but the modernized building methods Parker describes are very similar to those used for the Dillon Mini. Parker's other book is about a different sort of construction, but it has some relavant information about plywood and epoxy.

Plus a few more possibilities.
